MISSION STATEMENT
The Dorine Merritt Memorial Fund is created to honor the legacy of youth, community and vision for the exclusive benefit of the citizens and culture of the Town of Carver. This non-profit memorial is focused on youth programs, scholarships and community services. Sponsors are provided the opportunity to strengthen the health and welfare of the community by bonding together in a mutual mission and purpose.
SCHOLARSHIP & GRANT INFORMATION
In 2016, $6,600.00 was awarded in grants and scholarships. $3,500.00 was awarded to the CMHS 6th grade class to support their week long educational camp at Camp Bournedale. $5,0000.00 was awarded to YPAC, Young People's Alliance of Carver. Their mission aligns with ours: to build a community network that will provide a safe haven with appropriate, monitored programs that will enable young people to reach their greatest potential. Every summer Carver has a Carver Day, Old Home Day. $100.00 was given to the Old Home Day Association to aid in providing a rock wall for the children attending. A $2,000.00 scholarship was given to a college student to aid in the medical field this student is pursuing. And a $1000.00 scholarship was given to a graduation high school senior, also pursuing a medical career.
